Terms & Conditions
- Eligibility:
The competition is open to financial members of the Inner West Creative Network and are aged 18 years or over - Artwork Requirements:
- All submissions must be original work created by the entrant. Read section 8 for further details.
- Submissions must reflect the theme “Connected by Making.”
- Artwork must be suitable for print on merchandise.
- Use of no more than 4 colours is recommended for printing purposes.
Originality & Use of AI
All submissions must be original and created by the submitting artist. Artwork generated entirely by artificial intelligence (AI) tools without meaningful human input will not be accepted. Artists may use digital tools, including AI, as part of their creative process, but the final work must demonstrate clear artistic intent, authorship, and creative control. The spirit of this competition celebrates human creativity, making, and connection – we encourage works that reflect these values.
- Usage Rights:
- By entering, artists grant the Inner West Creative Network (IWCN) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and create derivative works of the submitted artwork within 2026 for promotional, educational, and marketing purposes related to IWCN’s activities.
- This includes use on printed merchandise (e.g. t-shirts, totes, posters) and for marketing and promotional purposes (print and digital). Artworks may be retained and visible on the IWCN website permanently.
- The artist retains copyright of the original work.
- Artist Credit:
- IWCN will ensure the artist's name is clearly credited alongside their artwork on all merchandise and promotional materials.

- Adaptation for Print:
- Entrants agree that IWCN reserves the right to: Adjust artwork scale, placement, and colour (minor edits only) to suit different merchandise formats and printing requirements.

- Selection Process:
- Entries will be reviewed by a panel appointed by IWCN. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

By entering, the artist warrants that their submission is their own original work, does not infringe on the rights of any third party, and has not been copied, adapted, or borrowed from existing artworks, designs, or images without appropriate permission.

- Indemnity Clause
The entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless IWCN from any claim, loss, liability, or expense arising from a breach of these terms, including any copyright or intellectual property disputes.
- Moral Rights Acknowledgement
The artist acknowledges that minor modifications to scale, placement, or colour may be made for the purposes of merchandise production, and waives any objection under moral rights legislation provided that appropriate credit is given.
- Data Collection and Privacy
Personal information collected through the entry process will be used only for the purpose of administering this competition and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law.
- Withdrawal or Disqualification
IWCN reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these Terms and Conditions or is deemed offensive, inappropriate, or not aligned with the theme.
- Changes to Terms or Cancellation
IWCN reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or cancel the competition at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, without liability to entrants.

- IWCN accepts no responsibility for lost, late, or incomplete entries.
