IWCN X HOPSTERS ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: Michelle St Anne
Michelle St Anne "The Enduring Image"
Drawing from a twenty-five-year archive of performance-making, this exhibition presents objects, films and photographs that have remained with me long after the moment of their capture. Tracing long fascination with the image as a site where memory, beauty and violence coexist, these works invite viewers to consider their own gaze. Each image becomes an invitation to witness what lies beneath the surface of the familiar.
Michelle St Anne is a theatre maker, director and founder of The Living Room Theatre. Over twenty-five years she has created sensory-driven performances exploring memory, violence, femaleness and social justice.
