Justine’s paintings emerge from line drawings made directly in response to moving through the landscape. Transformed into imagined yet distinctly Australian abstract landscapes, sometimes figures and animals emerge, though these open for interpretation. Using layered materials, her paintings balance frenetic energy and calm, reflecting nature’s soothing yet unordered rhythms.
