We Can Work It Out
A group exhibition exploring how Art meets Maths
IWCN in partnership with Sydney St Gallery
Curated by Sara Buchner
Art meets maths in this annual group exhibition exploring the creative potential of mathematical thinking. In 2025, We Can Work It Out draws inspiration from the elegance and balance of the Fibonacci Sequence — from spirals in nature to patterns in design.
Opened to artists of all backgrounds and mediums, the exhibition celebrates creative experimentation, cross-disciplinary thinking, and community connection. Each work reflects a shared curiosity about how structure and beauty intertwine — where order gives rise to wonder.
Born from a collaboration between Inner West Creative Network and Sydney Street Gallery, the show highlights what makes the Inner West unique: community, collaboration, and accessibility. Local artists come together to share ideas, test boundaries, and invite audiences into a gallery that feels grounded in the heart of our creative neighbourhood.
