
About Maggie Stein
Maggie Stein is a Sydney-based printmaker and art educator, specialising in lino printing and mixed media art making.
She has worked as an art educator within primary, secondary and tertiary educational sectors. In addition, she currently runs private lino printing classes whilst continuing her art practice in her space at May Street Artist’s Studios, St Peters.
Maggie has had 8 solo shows in the last 12 years in Sydney. She has shown her work in regional NSWs and interstate over this time.
In 2025 Maggie will be participating in Sydney Contemporary Paper with Tiliqua Tiliqua Gallery.
In 2024 she recieved an Honorable mention, Michael Beazer Works on Paper Award, East Gippsland Gallery. In 2022 Maggie won the Better Read Than Dead, Newtown, Summer Reading Guide design, Newtown, NSW.
In 2019 she was Winner of People's Choice Award, Urban Edge Art Award and Blue Mountains Print Prize, NSW
In 2016 Maggie's work was Highly Commended Greenway Art Award.
2009 Highly Commended Breast Cancer Survivorship Mural.
1990 Winner, Manly Warringah Open Art Prize, Highly Commended - Manly Warringah Art Prize – for printmaking.
1988 Maggie was winner Faber Castell Prize for Drawing, Commended Lloyd Rees Bicentennial Award for Drawing.
1987 Alfred Altshuler Graduating Award for Printmaking, City Art Institute.
