Sam is a commercial photographer with over twenty years experience working in advertising, marketing and editorial spaces. Completing her BFA Hons in Photomedia at UNSW CoFA, she began working at a pro lab, assisting and then shooting commissions for her own clients. Working for many years in house at a large print media publisher enabled Sam to work across a variety of glossy titles such as Vogue, Vogue Living, Delicious, and Inside Out magazines. Moving to focus more on commercial clients, Sam started shooting large catalogues and campaigns, liaising with advertising and creative agencies. In recent years Sam has moved into short form video production, being hired to conceive and produce music videos, brand films and project documentaries. Concurrent to her commercial practice have been personal projects, and a deep connection to servicing artists in the documentation of their work. Sam is interested in the space where different practices and ideologies meet and collaborate, and strongly believes that a strong and supportive creative community can advocate for improved recognition of the arts.
