EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
- IWCN elected Committee Member positions 2026/7 - Now Open
A. IWCN Election for vacant Committee Member positions for 2025/6
If you are considering running for a vacant IWCN Committee position, please read the information below carefully:
Anyone who is interested in running for a committee position is required to submit an 'Expression of Interest’ (EOI) to the Election Officer by 11.59pm on 11 November 2025 via this online form
1. Nominees are required to be nominated by a second member (the ‘nominator’). This member can be indicated on the nomination form if currently known, or provide that nomination in person at the AGM. If a nominator is indicated on the EOI form but cannot be present at the AGM itself, the nominator must have indicated a proxy to be present at the meeting to act on their behalf (and indicated on the proxy form).
The contact details for the Election Officer are below for enquiries or clarification.
2. The Expression of Interest (EOI) should contain no more than the number of words stipulated on the online form, and contain information about the prospective candidate’s experience, general vision for IWCN and contact information. A person who submits an EOI is not obliged to subsequently run for election. It is encouraged that any and all EOIs are submitted in a timely manner. No late submissions will be accepted. The Election Officer reserves the right to require changes to any EOI in order to ensure compliance with the IWCN Association Rules. Statements provided by candidates will be posted at www.iwcn.org.au in the order submitted. Candidates may read aloud their statements (submitted or otherwise) in person at the AGM prior to the election if preferred.
B. Electoral Officials
The Election/Returning Officer for the 2024/25 IWCN Election is the committee's current Public Officer. Any questions or complaints should be directed to the attention of the Election/Returning Officer at innerwestcreativenetwork@gmail.com

IMPORTANT: Further Notices
It has been identified by the IWCN committee that the now vast number of association members requires an update to the rules of the association with regard to the requirements of a quorum at Annual and other Special General Meetings of the association. The current rules do not stipulate the exact action to be taken should a quorum not be achieved. As such, following legal discussion and advice, to enable the continuity of operations should the current definition of a quorum not be met at such meetings, the following amendment to the rules is proposed (note this proposal does not change the quorum requirements for monthly committee meetings).

Proposed motion: "Should an Annual or other Special General Meeting of members not reach the required quorum as indicated in the association rules, the meeting shall be adjourned for 30 minutes. If after the adjournment the required quorum is not present, the members present shall constitute a quorum."
You may choose to vote on this proposal prior to the AGM via this online form. Voting on this motion is not by secret ballot. Note that you will be required to include your email address as part of this voting process (for this motion only, for the purpose of voting validation only). Please use the email address where you receive the regular IWCN newsletter. Should you not wish to add your email address, please vote at the AGM in person, or online should you be attending remotely. Voting on this proposal at the AGM will be via a show of hands.
Please vote here
The results of the pre-AGM votes will be announced when the proposal is tabled at the AGM
