The 2024 Movement, Movement Report
This annual platform empowers choreographers, dance artists, and arts workers to envision a thriving future for independent dance practices. Through interactive sessions, participants explored relationships between artists, organisations, and the public to strengthen the dance community. Movement, Movement continues to inspire collaboration, growth, and innovation across the state's contemporary dance landscape.
In August 2024, Campbelltown Arts Centre hosted ‘Movement, Movement: Virtual Dance Forum’,an interactive online forum spread over three consecutive Tuesdays. This program was designedfor emerging and established professionals within the New South Wales contemporary dancesector. Each session invited participants, including choreographers, dance artists, executives,artistic directors, producers, and arts workers based in NSW, to connect and delve into pivotalaspects of the industry Launched in 2019 Movement, Movement is an annual platform for artists to express what they want from the contemporary dance sector. Thinking about relationships between artists, organisations and the broader public, the event aims to bring independent practitioners with a choreographic practice together in order to improve and grow dance connections in NSW.

The 2025 Movement, Movement Event will take place on Tuesday, 10 June. This year, we’re hosting an in-person gathering for Sydney-based artists, complemented by an online option for regional artists to ensure inclusivity across the state.
