About Janny Grant
My work straddles the realms of fine art, textile art, artisan craft and graphic design, with each discipline invigorating and informing the other in an ever expanding spiral of creativity. As an artist I am deeply drawn to energetic patterns within nature, repetition of organic shapes and tight colour palettes, as well as exploring ideas of an otherworldly or spiritual nature.
As a selective hoarder I like to experiment with materials I collect from both the natural and man made world. The art of bricolage giving me an appreciation of process and materiality. I aim to innovate through my art via my ever evolving visual language.
Over the years I have studied graphic design, painting, lino printing, fashion design and more. I have had my environmental sculptures exhibited at Scenic World, Eden Gardens, Newtown Art Seat, Greenway Art Prize, Art on The Greenway, Kuringai and more. Selected pieces are currently on display at Bendigo Bank Leichhardt.
I love exploring new things via art workshops, open days, galleries, and the like. My aim as an artist is to keep broadening my skillset, and bring all the inspiring things I have learned together in my own unique way.
